Overdose Death Alert

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has seen another surge in overdose deaths within a four-day period in Franklin County. 
Between the hours of 8:00 P.M. on 5/14/2019 and 6:15 A.M. on 05/16/2019 there were nine (9) apparent overdose deaths located in the areas of 43223, 43016, 43204, 43224, 43085,  and 43207.
Our toxicology team is conducting initial testing to confirm if these overdose deaths are fentanyl-related. 


For those Franklin County residents with family or friends that might be at risk for an overdose, please take the necessary steps to have Naloxone available for them.

Franklin County Public Health along with Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided with Naloxone) will provide free naloxone with a brief training. To locate these sites please visit: http://www.odh.ohio.gov/projectdawn
